The Process: From Clone to Customer
Minimum commitment required
The minimum volume or duration for a Contract Grow agreement is determined by the cultivar's specific grow cycle and the dedicated facility space required. Typically, we require a minimum commitment that spans at least one full cultivation cycle (e.g., 6–12 months) and meets a certain volume threshold to ensure the financial viability of dedicating our resources. We will define these minimums specifically when we scope your requested strain and volume.
Who owns the genetic material?
The ownership of the final harvested material is transferred to you upon purchase as stipulated in the contract. However, the ownership of the underlying genetics or intellectual property (IP) will be clearly defined in the agreement.
If you provide us with a proprietary, legally protected clone or seed, you retain IP ownership.
If we source and develop a strain for you, the contract will specify whether you receive exclusive rights to the cultivar's propagation material for the duration of the contract, or if we retain ownership.
Can we scale the production volume
While the contract secures a base volume and price, we understand market demand can shift. The agreement will include a Volume Flexibility Clause that allows for pre-defined adjustments (e.g., increasing or decreasing the volume by up to 15-20%) with a predetermined notification window (e.g., 90 days). Any major scale change outside this range would require a contract amendment to ensure we can secure the necessary facility capacity and resources.
